Hi, I’m Dr. Patricia M. Delgado, DNP!
If your goal is to work in dermatology, research or aesthetics, I am here to help inspire, motivate, and guide you to the career of your dreams!
My Story
I am a Nicaraguan-American doctoral-prepared nurse practitioner from Tampa, Florida.
I have been a nurse for 11 years, with 8 of those years as a nurse practitioner in dermatology.
I did not always know I wanted to be a nurse. In fact, I had wanted to be a veterinarian for most of my life until I finally worked at a vet clinic halfway through college. In college, my major must have changed about 5 times (don’t get me started on my minors!) In a roundabout sort of way, I ended up in my dream job. Even my first job as a nurse practitioner in dermatology could be considered luck, although I like to consider it the meeting of preparedness and opportunity.
Patricia is a Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner, Entrepreneur, and Speaker
(DNP, AGPCNP-BC, DCNP)
My life has had its fair share of struggles and pitfalls as well. However, I am thankful for these darker times, as they have given me the opportunity to prove to myself that I can overcome those obstacles.
Our success is not measured by the amount of times we’ve fallen, but by the amount of times we pick ourselves back up.
I am thankful for the opportunities that I have had the capability to create for myself, and I welcome and cherish the opportunity to show others their own abilities and potential.
I know I would not be where I am if I had not had the support, advice and guidance from certain special people in my past and in my life. Let me know what guidance you may need, or if you have a specific question about anything! And be sure to check out the blog page in case you may find your answers there too!
My Nursing Background
I practiced as a registered nurse in a multi-system progressive care unit for 1.5 years and in a multi-system intensive care unit for 3.5 years prior to beginning my nurse practitioner career in dermatology. Over my five years practicing in the hospital, I realized how much I wanted to help keep people out of the hospital and help them live their best lives. Dermatology felt like the perfect specialty because it involves a lot of education and taking into account the whole person during each visit. It is also doesn’t hurt that the patients are typically motivated to make changes and happy to see you!
My Purpose
I am passionate about helping others see and focus on their inner potential in their careers and in their lives. I offer career coaching and mentorship, in addition for opportunities to shadow. Reach out today if you are interested in working with me to help you achieve your goals in nursing, dermatology, or getting the most out of life!
Dermatology Nurses’ Association
President of the Florida Chapter
I have served as President of the Florida Chapter of the DNA since November 2019. Our mission is to help spread education and awareness about dermatology issues to nurses and other healthcare providers in addition to the public. I first learned about the Dermatology Certification through the DNA, and I highly recommend nurses and nurse practitioners passionate about dermatology to get their certification too. The DNA offers opportunities for individuals passionate about dermatology to get involved in education, leadership and networking events as well.

Tampa Bay Advanced Practice Nurses Council
Membership Director
I have served as Membership Director of the TBAPNC since January 2021. The TBAPNC strives to elevate the nurse practitioner profession in the community as well as in legislation in order to increase patient access to quality healthcare. We are a powerful force that has made significant strides in legislation, together with the rest of the state of Florida Nurses’ Councils.
We must continue to represent our profession and stand out as patient advocates so the policy makers will maintain the communities’ interests in mind. “What was given can be taken away.”
I encourage all nurse practitioners in Florida to join their local Advanced Practice Nurses Councils to volunteer, network, and stay abreast of the policies impacting our profession and our livelihoods.
